Have you ever had one of those epiphany moments? When it happens to you you’ll know. When it happened to me in 2005 I was visiting a winery tasting room in California. I left the tasting and walked out to the vineyard and thought to myself, “Why am I not doing this?”

I knew I wanted to become a winemaker, to work outside, and to embrace the lifestyle that wine country offers. My current job just wasn’t fulfilling. I wanted more. I became obsessed with what I could do to turn this dream into a reality. I went home to Houston and started researching and taking classes. Still fully employed, I had to use all of my vacation days to work harvests in California, absorbing as much as I could. This was by far the hardest I had worked, and the happiest I had been in years. I had been truly bitten by the winemaking bug.

By 2013 I’d been through five harvests and knew if I wanted to be in this industry it was going to take commitment. So I left my job and moved my wife Katie and our three kids out to California to embark on a bold brand new adventure.

Since then we’ve built friendships with some of Sonoma County’s legendary growers and winemakers. For us, collaborating with those who have decades of experience has been not only a fabulous learning opportunity, but it has been so fulfilling personally and given me a greater purpose.

In 2018, we took the next step in our journey by expanding our operation into Texas.  We moved the family to a small community west of Austin called Dripping Springs and opened the winery in the Summer of 2019.

For me, it all boils down to this… creating something that people enjoy makes me happy. I hope you enjoy these wines as much as we do.

Cheers from our family to yours!
